When battery chickens are rescued in England, they are often missing feathers. When the rescue happens during the fall or winter, when the weather is getting colder, the rescuers do their best to keep the chickens warm. One of the most common ways they do this is by putting knitted sweaters on the chickens.
Take a look:
Nicola Congden is also a chicken owner who took in battery hens that lost their feathers. She too, along with her mother’s help, is knitting sweaters for chickens in need. The money they raise is going to charity, BBC News reports.
Even though these sweaters are for a specific purpose, you have to admit that the chickens look cute in them. Don’t you think? Would you put a sweater on your chicken?
