Ingredients
- 1 T. olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 1 T. molasses
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1 tsp. liquid smoke
Preparation
Warm olive oil in a medium-sized saucepan, then add onion and cook until translucent. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, until thick. Pour into a sterilized glass jar and store in the refrigerator, where it will keep for one to two months.
Makes about 2½ cups.
